Fox Body Mustang Drifting

For all you old Mustang fans out there.

The only mods to the car so far are Weight removal, Bilstein Coilovers and an MM Panhard bar. Everything else it 100% stock. We are adding stiffer suspension and more steering angle next.

sounds like something broke. SHoulda left the spoiler on there or used a coupe. GTs look hideous without them

Fun video, you spent more time in the dirt than my Jeep does.

Mustangs, old ones are not the easiest car to put sideways. The snap around on you very quickly, lot like an FD. Just poof and you are around. Hard to catch.

How are you going to go increase the steering angle? I know a lot of cars had rack limiters that you can pull out, but looking at the spindles there doesnt seem to be a lot you can do.

We are having a set of custom lower control arms built up. They are going to give us a significant increase in angle.

Right now the brake caliper is hitting the LCA long before we run out of steering lock. We are running a 1/8" wheel spacer up front with 17x8 30mm offset front wheels. I also did some clean up work on the spring pocket of the front subframe.

Wow... That reminds me of when our car was mostly stock... Keep up the good work. With enough parts and effort they make pretty good cars...
Good Luck,

Got a sweet new exhaust on the car today. Still tame enough for street use and smog legal. Done a little different the your average 5.0 exhaust.

DV-
Yeah, we are running SN95 spindles and rearend, but there is some serious work that remains to get this little 5.0 working right. We should chat a bit at Sonoma, Seattle, or Irwindale. Driftlive should be at those events.

I thought about doing side exhaust on mine, but I wouldnt have much for ground clearance after having to have it clear the subframe connectors

When I ran side exhaust I ran oval shaped tubing... Dr Gas makes a kit that bolts in unless you know a shop that can make it for you from scratch. If you're in So. Cal. I have a guy that can do it for you.
HTH,

I've used Dr Gas pipes in the past. They are quality pieces.

The tips that we have on the car now are resonators to keep the drone down a bit as we are still driving this car to the track. Once I get something to tow with, I think it will be time for some boom tubes.
