David: Drifter Partners

David: Drifter in "Brake Time"

by Geoffrey Chandler - July 31st, 2007 -
Right now the Mustang has no e-brake to speak of. The stock e-brake was rendered ineffective when the stock Fox rearend was replaced with an SN95 unit out of a 1995 Mustang GT. The rearend was swapped because the SN95 unit offered 5-lug axles, disk brakes, and a lower final drive ratio. Future plans for the rearend include adding a second set of hydraulic brake calipers and a hand operated master cylinder. We also plan to replace the c-clip axles with press on bearing units for a 9-inch rearend. We are currently evaluating different setups, if you have any recommendations, leave us a comment.
